Buy Mobile - Retail in Transitory Spaces

The primary goal of this workshop was the exploration of retail opportunities in transitory spaces related to public or personal mobility and creating a high level outline of an idea.

During the secondary phase of the workshop, I was responsible for the creation of a fully responsive website which provided detailed information about the research, findings and the information which the class of Interaction Design created during this exercise. I coded the site on theFoundation Framework provided by Zurb.
I started an initial exploration of the theme by ideating and trying to find technologies that can be leveraged in a transitory environement.
Activity map of people in transitory spaces in peak and off-peak hours.
The mapping of personas on the activity map.
MAP.IT
Our research led us to the creation of Map.It. It is a service which learns the habits, preferences and interests of a user over time through connected services. It then makes use of this data to provide contextual maps and navigation for a richer route which might help the user in finding things they want and require while navigating to a place. It could also notify the user of interesting opportunities based on time and the location that the user is in.
Fine tuning the idea, creating a scheme to understand the division of information and functionality.
MapIt Interaction flow
Building a customer journey map, and brainstorming some questions that were still unexplored in the idea.
MapIt - Customer Journey Map
After observing the users at various locations like the underground and bus stations, we started creating personas and scenarios to improve upon the idea developed.
MapIt - Scenario

The service has the potential for becoming a platform for various types of information and engagement relevant to the user. It could be a platform for recieveing information about real-time events like pop-ups or invitations by contacts of the user for various activities like food or entertainment. It could be a source of engaging and activity specific routes within and in-between cities such as photo-walks, places to see generated by the community.
